Summer Auty, (b. 1999) based in Devon, currently studying MA Art & Ecology at Goldsmiths. She graduated from Central St Martins in 2022 with a BA in Fine Art and has since worked in Forest School and facilitated art, climate & mental health workshops. Summer is the editor of Solastalgia Magazine and recipient of Somerset Artworks Creative Pathways Bursary (2023)

Her work explores kinship between humans and non-humans, using art as a mode of collaborative storytelling. The work seeks to foster deep relationships to the more-than-human world and construct new narratives that help us move through the ecological crises we face today.

Earlier work, looked at access to wild spaces and undeveloped land, collaborating with residents, in Frome and its surrounding villages, to explore feelings of eco-grief around rapidly vanishing green spaces due to mass building of new housing.

In 2022, Summer started Solastalgia Magazine to create a platform for people to express feeling of eco-grief and reflect on climate change's impact on mental health. Solastalgia grew into a series of workshops that use creative practice to explore climate emotions, and has now had two group exhibitions featuring artists from the magazines.
